4 Stars - Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
Sometimes I feel a little ashamed by how much YA reading I do, but then I come across a book like this and I'm reminded that while a lot of YA is drivel there are good books too!! I loved this sweet story. The romance between two 16 year olds in the 80s just felt real thanks to Rainbow Rowell's writing style. While the book has some darkness overall it just left a light happy feeling on my heart. I've got Landline in my queue to read soon and I'm hoping it won't disappoint.
Coming up with a menu for this book was a little difficult for me since food didn't play a big part in the story and wasn't mentioned much. I did remember Eleanor's mother's Christmas pudding but the other items I decided to use as memories of the two main characters. Hopefully you'll enjoy if you decide to use this book for book club!! Amazon gives a somewhat obscure synopsis featured below but I guarantee if you give the book a try you'll enjoy it!
Bono met his wife in high school, Park says.
