My first time doing Body Pump was this past November. Jon and I broke down and joined a gym. First gym I've ever belonged to, but it was just too cold outside to continue running outdoors and I thought it might be a good opportunity for me to really cross train. With our memberships at Adventure 212, we got access to lots of classes. I couldn't wait to try out a few. BodyPump was quite the humbling experience for me.
I've always thought of myself as decently strong, thanks to dance and then solidcore last year. However I struggled in the beginning picking up the routine and maintaining strong weights through each track. I found myself good exhausted at the end of each workout.
Fast forward 3 months and I am now lifting much heavier weights and really getting the most out of the workout. I discovered the change out the routine every few months and also that instructors will mix it up if they feel like the class is getting used to the current release. My pushups have gotten much better, my core feels stronger and my arms are beginning to get defined. Here's to another 3 months of Body Pump to get real definition!!
