The Book Thief - Markus Zusak - 4 stars
This was a great read. Not often do you read books from the german children's side of the story. It was very interesting to see that other side. Despite the sadness of the subject matter, the book had some really funny parts. Very enjoyable to read.
We chose this to read prior to the movie coming out, hoping that it would do the book justice. Sadly though, the movie fell flat. Would highly recommend this book to anyone. A synopsis from Amazon below.
It is 1939. Nazi Germany. The country is holding its breath. Death has never been busier, and will become busier still.
